Experience with:
North Forty Construction
July 2006 – October 2006 Winnett/Roundup, MT
Laborer/Fencer/Operator
I took this job in addition to my Winnett bar employment. I worked directly with the owner on a daily basis, as it is a small business. I learned a lot about putting up barb wire fencing in Montana where it is in high demand. On the average, we put up 3 to 5 miles a week, depending of course on how many gates, corners, and misc. obstacles there were to deal with. It was a great outdoor environment to work in and the knowledge I gained is priceless.
Experience with:
• Hydraulic Drill Rig
• Mini Backhoe
• Military Style 6x6
• Pneumatic Post Pounder
• Chain Saw
• Story Pole/Surveying Scope
• Hand Tools (tamping bar, fencing pliers, fence stretcher, etc.)
Winnett Bar

Bartender/Cook/Maintenance
During my short employment here, I gained some experience with food service in addition to bar tending. I also performed minor building repairs, and major coal furnace maintenance and repairs. I worked here only for a short time between jobs as a favor to my employer. I learned a lot and enjoyed the opportunity to do something new.
Chicago Bridge and Iron
March 2001 – July 2006 Birmingham/Westover, AL Assistant Foreman/Operator/Laborer/Mechanic/Safety Inspector
I worked with concrete and concrete forms in the construction of water towers. I worked at high elevations in locations across the country reading blueprints, tying steel, operating cranes and finishing concrete. I have a good deal of experience installing ladders, platform, and catwalks, using concrete drills and anchors. I was also responsible for a number of maintenance tasks. Equipment inspections and general job site safety inspections were a big part of my duties. When I made assistant foreman, I was responsible for keeping the crew running smoothly, efficiently, and most importantly, safely. I did walk through inspections with engineering firms and OSHA personnel. I conducted toolbox safety meetings every morning, and delegated duties throughout the day. In addition to my safety related tasks, I was trained in first aid and CPR.

Experience with:
Kushell Logging Inc.
Summer 1997 Pine River, MN
Laborer/Limber/Operator
While employed by L.D. Kushell, I also gained experience in the logging industry. I started as a limber and quickly moved to operating. Since I already had a background running machinery with my dad’s logging company, it was very easy for me to excel. I really liked this line of work, but the logging industry was being taken over by the ‘big guys’ about that time, making it hard for me to see a financially secure future in the harvesting end of things. I still feel that my time there gave me knowledge and experience that later benefited me.
